Chanel Couture Fall 2010

So on Tuesday, the 6th, Karl Lagerfeld, creative director for the House of Chanel, released the wild lion from it's cage which took over the catwalk creating a wild performance. The models were accompanied by a GINOURMOUS 40-foot-tall gold lion. The lion was stretching its paw on an equally enormous pearl which has always had an important role since the beginning.

Even though the setting of the show was a big(super expensive)production, the clothes were traditional. It wasn't my favourite one but I guess they just thought that no one would notice the clothes if there was a golden lion in the centre of the catwalk. The most used colors were gray, ivory, and gold. Here are a few of my selected favorites for you from his collection of over 70 looks. Which one do you like best?

Front Row at Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture

Jessica Alba and Blake Lively were in the front row at the latest Dior collection. They're wearing what I'm assuming to be looks from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection.Obviously, their dresses are very summery and both of them are accesorized with Christian Louboutin shoes.I noticed that Blake is really interested in fashion as throughout the show, from what I've seen she was taking notes like all the fashion editors were doing.

Model's Street Style:Frida Gusstavsson

I've always liked how well put together Frida Gusstavsson looks. And you should take into consideration the fact that she's only 16!!!!Anyways,from what I 've read on some forums,I know that the dress is vintage and the bag is Miu Miu.On the second look,I don't know for sure, even though I suspect that it's also vintage,at least the shirt.

UK Vogue August 2010:Colour Shock

Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture

As many fashion critics say, this new couture collection proved to be old school Galianno. The designer himself said that his inspiration were flowers and their shapes, as you can easily see in the tulips skirts and dresses. Moreover, some of the models had their heads covered in plastic to give the sensation of a flower bouquet.
I think that the hard work put in every piece of the collection as all of them have mesmerizing details will pay off as everyone said that this is the best collection from the last 5 years!Personally my favourite dress is the black one with ruffles cascading all over it which is the second picture I posted here.

UK Vogue August 2010 Editorial:First Look

The editorial form the UK Vogue August issue is called New Look as it previews the fall collections.I really liked the choice of models,Karlie Kloss and Karmen Pedaru as it seems that these two work great together. The fall collections showed include Louis Vuitton,Dolce&Gabanna,Lanvin and Givenchy.Personally,my favourite pics are the Louis Vuitton and Dolce&Gabanna ones.

Chanel F/W 10.11 Ad Campaign

This is another case where I didn't really like the collection but I love the ads.The Chanel Fall 2010 collection wasn't well received by many but the pictures are tastefully done. One of their biggest pluses is that two of the highest rated models nowadays,Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw, took part. The photoshoot took place in New York and it kinda captures the city's spirit even though Chanel it's a well established Parisian fashion brand.

Louis Vuitton F/W 10.11 Ad Campaign

This is definitely one of my favorite as it captures the whole vibe of the collection. The weird part is that even though the collection wasn't one of my favourites,I still could apreciate these pictures as they have a nice vintage touch. Also,I think that the casting for the ads was amazing. It was a wise decision not to use fresh faces as Natalia Vodianova,Karen Elson and Christy Turlington were able to show the message of the collection.

Ad Campaigns for Fall 2010

So,many of the ad campaigns for the Fall 2010 collection have already been released and personally we think that not all of them have succeeded in convincing the customers that the products can be weareable. Most of them have kept their runway touch and it' hard to believe that a regular person could wear those clothes with the same confidence a professional model does. However, that's the way all the ad campaigns for high fashion brands are shot.
Anyway,I'll make a diferent post for all the ad campaigns that I really enjoyed.
